NANS Lauds Gombe Teaching Hospital CMD’s New Initiatives

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded the new initiatives in the federal teaching hospital, Gombe, Gombe State introduced by the Chief Medical Director of the facility, Professor Abdullahi M. Abdullahi.
In a statement issued to our correspondent on Friday, the state chairman of the association, Comrade Usman Wakili, mentioned the construction of modern trauma centre, molecular and isolation centre, specialised ophthalmology operation theatre and new laboratory in the hospital as crucial projects that would enhance service delivery.
He also praised the provision of a cutting-edge CT scan machine, ongoing construction of a gas plant centre, comprehensive paediatric complex, school of dispensing and institute of health sciences in the facility.
According to the students’ body, those initiatives have brought renewed hope to patients, restored confidence in Nigeria’s healthcare system as well as expanded opportunities for students and young professionals to get training and practical experience and jobs in the teaching hospital.
“These monumental projects are a testament not only to the foresight of Prof. Dr. Abdullahi but also to the collective dedication and efficiency of the entire management team of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.
“Together, they have repositioned the institution as a model of excellence in line with the Renewed Hope vision of making quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and modern for all Nigerians”, he said.
