Ahead of the forthcoming Maulud celebrations, a charity organisation in Bauchi State, ‘Wunti Alkhair Foundation’, has distributed foodstuffs to 400 Islamic schools and 200 islamic singers across Bauchi State.
According to a volunteer media assistant of the foundation, Isiyaka Ismail Wunti, the gesture was meant to assist the Muslims community to enjoy the maulud festivals.
He added that similar gesture was carried out by the foundation during Ramadan fast and sallah festivities.
Wunti explained that the foodstuffs donated were 632 bags of rice to the islamic schools through their union known as Riyadul Islam and 744 bags to islamic singers via their association called Shu’araunnabi.
Also speaking while handing over the foodstuffs to the beneficiaries, the legal officer of the foundation, Umar Abubakar Magaji, said the distribution of the foodstuffs was one of many ways they are working to promote the welfare of Muslims in Bauchi State.
He charged the groups leaders to ensure fair distribution of the foodstuffs.
Responding, state chairmen of the two religious groups, Ibrahim Baba Karami, and Nasiru Sudani, thanked the foundation for its kindness and generosity describing it as unprecedented in the history of the state.
“We are deeply grateful for the foundation’s support. This gesture will go a long way in easing our burdens and enabling us to continue with our activities comfortably”, they said.
