Bauchi Achieves 70% Budget Execution, Accelerates Development Projects
From Paul Orude Bauchi
Bauchi State has recorded an impressive milestone in its 2025 fiscal year, achieving over 70 percent budget execution with revenue generation surpassing initial targets.
The disclosure was made during an extraordinary session of the State Executive Council (SEC) chaired by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
According to Abdulwahab Muhammad, the Senior Special Assistant on Communication to the Governor, the meeting focused on reviewing budget performance and evaluating key development projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.
Among the highlights, the council noted significant progress in the renovation of the Bauchi Specialist Hospital (BACAS). The upgrade is expected to transform healthcare delivery in the state by strengthening medical facilities and improving services.
Infrastructure also received attention, with the construction of new roads in the Government Residential Area (GRA). According to officials, the project ill ease transportation, expand urban development, and enhance accessibility within the area.
Governor Mohammed underscored the importance of strengthening critical sectors such as education, health, and agriculture, describing them as the “pillars of sustainable growth and socio-economic advancement.” He also reiterated the administration’s commitment to maintaining budgetary discipline and prudent financial management.
To sustain the momentum, the government is exploring partnerships with international development agencies to mobilize additional resources and technical expertise.
Officials say the achievements reflect the administration’s determination to deliver tangible improvements and foster long-term growth across Bauchi State.
