Rep Mansur Manu Soro Targets Clean Water for All 22 Wards in Darazo-Ganjuwa by 2027
From Paul Orude Bauchi
Member of the House of Representatives for Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has unveiled plan to provide clean, accessible water to every ward in the constituency by June 2027.
According to a statement by his aide, Bako Darazo dated Wednesday, the lawmaker, who represents the area on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said the initiative is part of his commitment to tackling the perennial problem of water scarcity and improving the quality of life for constituents.
Soro disclosed that he has already completed solar-powered water schemes in parts of Darazo and Ganjuwa.
His latest intervention was the inauguration of a solar-powered water facility with 1,000 meters of reticulation at the proposed Darazo-Ganjuwa College, bringing the number of completed projects to six.
Looking ahead, the legislator pledged to deliver at least 30 solar-powered water projects across the constituency, with one in each of the 22 ward headquarters.
“The seventh project will be sited at Sabon Kaura – Titin Fada in Soro, while the eighth and ninth phases will be in Darazo Central and Ganjuwa West, respectively,” he said.
To ensure sustainability, Soro has launched the Darazo-Ganjuwa Water Management Initiative and trained indigenous youths as water engineers, solar technicians, masons, and plumbers to maintain the facilities.
“This is not just about building water projects; it’s about creating a system that works for the people in the long term,” he added.
Residents of Darazo-Ganjuwa have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the projects will reduce the burden of water scarcity that has plagued the area for years
