Wikki Tourists Sweep Past Niger Tornadoes to Reach GusauAhlan 2025 Semi-Finals

By Nasiru Ibrahim
Wikki Tourists were in ruthless form at the Lafia Township Stadium, easing past Niger Tornadoes 3–0 to book their place in the semi-finals of the 2025 GusauAhlan Preseason Tournament.
The Pride of Bauchi got off to the perfect start, with Sadiq Abdullahi finding the net in just the sixth minute after latching onto a clever pass from John Taiwo. Moments later, they doubled their lead when the Tornadoes goalkeeper brought down a Wikki attacker in the box, leaving Dickson Ironsi to step up and calmly convert from the penalty spot.
Wikki controlled the game from there, moving the ball with confidence and keeping Tornadoes at bay. In the second half, Coach Abdu Maikaba rang the changes, giving more players the chance to impress. One of them, Ahmed Abubakar Lamido, made an instant impact, firing home in the 75th minute to seal a comfortable win.
After the game, Maikaba spoke about the value of the tournament, explaining that it is as much about testing tactics and spotting new talent as it is about winning.
The standout on the day was Klinshak Longbak, whose commanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by former Technical Adviser Azeez Audu Mohammed.
With this result, Wikki Tourists march into the semi-finals full of belief and momentum, ready to keep their preseason form going strong.
