A renewed wave of optimism is sweeping across Warri, Effurun, Udu, and other parts of Delta State as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori intensifies inspection of major infrastructure projects under his M.O.R.E. Agenda.
Touring the multi-billion naira Udu Harbour Market, the Governor highlighted its 604 lock-up shops, 120 open stalls, modern abattoir, and other amenities, calling it a key hub to boost commerce and livelihoods. He also inspected the Enerhen Junction Flyover—handled by Julius Berger—to ease traffic and enhance mobility, as well as stormwater control systems and Phase III of the Airport Road/Ugborikoko flood control project.
Addressing cheering crowds, Oborevwori stressed that projects are ongoing across all 25 LGAs and three senatorial districts. He assured that contractors are fully funded and urged adherence to quality and timelines.
At the Warri Township Stadium, undergoing full-scale renovation due to limited land for new construction, he reviewed work on a FIFA-standard pitch, Olympic-size swimming pool, indoor sports hall, and drainage system. Over 176 youths are employed on-site, with completion expected before the next Premier League season.
His performance earned him “South-South Governor of the Year” at the maiden Progressive Digital Media Summit in Abuja, recognizing his leadership in infrastructure, human capital investment, and governance transparency.
In a surprise visit to Heroes of Faith Ministries, Ughelli, Oborevwori sought prayers and reaffirmed commitment to inclusive development, citing road and flyover projects as proof of promises kept. Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi praised his leadership and non-ethnic approach to governance.
From markets to flood control, sports facilities to places of worship, the Governor’s outreach reflects a people-focused administration driving visible transformation across Delta State.
