The Yobe State Government has pledged to honour 17 Year Old Nafisa Abdullah , the outstanding teenage student who brought pride to the state and Nigeria through their remarkable performances at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.
Governor Mai Mala Buni announced plans to recognise 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullah, who emerged first in English Language, and 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, who clinched the overall best award at the global academic competition.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Imrah Muhammed via X (formerly Twitter), the governor described the achievements of the girls as inspirational and a testament to the hidden potential within the state’s youth.
“These young girls are symbols of hope and excellence, and they deserve to be celebrated. Their achievements send a powerful message about the future of education in Yobe,” Buni said.
The accolades have sparked nationwide admiration, with former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, urging President Bola Tinubu to give the girls national recognition—similar to recent honours bestowed on Nigeria’s victorious Super Falcons and D’Tigress teams.
The state government’s recognition is part of a broader effort to promote academic excellence and spotlight the talents of young Nigerians on the global stage.
