Tangale Youth Resolve To Drive Change In Community
By Najib Sani, Gombe
Maiden edition of the ‘1K Tangale Youth Conference’ organised by tangale youths in Gombe State to promote unity among the kinsmen drawn from all parts of the state has ended with a call to action for stakeholders to collaborate with Tangale youth to build a prosperous and peaceful future.
The conference, themed “Empower, Engage, Elevate: Connect for Change,” was held on Sunday at the Federal Government College Hall in Billiri local government, Gombe State.

According to the communique issued to journalists by the conference convener, Christian Gideon Musa, Tangale youth possess enormous untapped potential, creativity, and resilience, which he opined if well harnessed, can catalyse transformative change across all sectors of society.
He emphasised the need for collective action to empower, engage, and elevate the Tangale community.

The communique said the conference observed several key issues affecting the Tangale youth, including rising unemployment, disconnect from policy and governance, erosion of cultural values, and peace and security concerns.
To address these challenges, the conference resolved to prioritise youth capacity building through vocational and digital skill acquisition programmes, and pursue partnerships with tech hubs, educational institutions, and development organisations to drive innovation and entrepreneurship.
The conference also resolved to mobilise and sensitise youth to actively participate in governance processes and civic duties, and to launch a mentorship programme to connect young people with Tangale professionals and entrepreneurs.
“An annual Tangale Youth Innovation Grant will be instituted to support impactful community projects.
“Except Tangale rises, the whole of Gombe South may remain down.”, they said.
The conference appreciated the support of Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro and called on government agencies, traditional leaders, and development partners to collaborate with Tangale youth to build a brighter future.
