Vice President In Bauchi To Give Out Former Governor’s Daughter In marriage

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday  gave out daughter of former governor of Bauchí State Khadijat in marriage 

The event attracted prominent people from all walks of life, including the governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya who is also the Chairman of the Northern governor’s forum,   former Governor of Bauchi State Adamu Muazu, Ministers , senators among others 

Khadijat was given out in marriage to Muhammad Sadiq Wanka.

The wedding  took place at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu.

Alhaji Yusuf Yakubu Wanka, the Cigarin Bauchi, received the bride for a dowry of N300,000 from the bride’s representative, Kashim Shettima.

The marriage ceremony was conducted by the Chief Imam of Bauchi, Sheikh Bala Ahmed Baban-Inna, 

Shortly after the marriage rites, the emir turbanned  Mohammed as the first ‘Makama Babba of Bauchi’ traditional title of the emirate

Speaking in a vote of thanks, Governor Bala Mohammad thanked the Vice President for the visit to attend both ceremonies.

“On behalf of the people and government of Bauchi state and on behalf of the celebrant, your Excellency we want to thank you most sincerely  

“We know the crowded schedule that you have even today you have had to attend some occasion before coming to Bauchi. We have seen that you have chosen to come here and even set aside some other engagements that you have to come to Bauchi. You have made the occasion very important. We are grateful on behalf of everybody in Bauchi”

Governor Mohammed also thanked the Emir of Bauchi for conferring the traditional title on the former governor.

“Your Royal Highness we thank you most sincerely for giving one of our own the former governor the auspicious position,” he said.

“Definitely he deserves it .We appreciate you versatile position on issues that relate to community development. We are grateful on behalf of everybody in Bauchi. Your Royal Highness we than you most sincerely for giving on of our own the former governor this position definitely he deserves it and he is eminently qualified for the position he is given”

Mohammed opined that the former governor deserved the traditional title of Makama Babba of the Bauchi Emirate Council and  expressed optimism  that he would fulfill the responsibilities of his title.

“You are someone that is amiable and has distinguished yourself in your chosen profession also in terms of community relations having done all that you have done for Bauchi Emirate and for Nigeria”
