Gombe Govt Joins Defense In Land Grab Suit
By Najib Sani, Gombe
Gombe State government has formally applied to join an ongoing land dispute case as a defendant following a suit filed by Emir General Integrated Limited against a construction company in the state ‘Grandscope Construction Limited’.
The case revolves around allegations of trespassing of land belonging to Emir General Integrated Limited by Grandscope Construction Limited.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Sulaiman Abdurrahim, said he had no objection to the government’s application to join the case but opposed the application to set aside an earlier court order restraining the construction company ‘Grandscope Construction Limited’ from erecting structure on the disputed land.
During the sitting, the state government representatives said government was interested to join the suit as defendants and sought the setting aside of earlier court order.
Having heard prayers from the two warring parties, the presiding judge, Fatima Musa, deferred ruling on the matter and adjourned the case until March 20, 2025.
