Bauchi Governor Congratulates Newly Elected NUJ National President

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has congratulated the newly elected National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahya.

Mohammed, in a press statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muktar Gidado, made available to journalists in Baucchi on Wednesday.

The statement said the Governor described Yahya’s emergence as “historic and well-deserved”

“Governor Bala Mohammed described the emergence of Alhassan Yahya as the first NUJ President from the North Eastern region as a remarkable achievement and a testament to his dedication, leadership qualities and his outstanding contributions to the field of journalism and unionism,” Gidado said.

“This milestone according to Governor Mohammed is not only a source of pride for the North East region but also a beacon of hope for the advancement of press freedom and responsible journalism in our region and Nigeria at large.

“Governor Bala Mohammed assured the new leadership of NUJ of the Bauchi State Government’s Commitment to fostering a robust and productive partnership with the union to promote transparency, accountability and development through a free and vibrant press.

“The Governor commended the new president’s exceptional accomplishments and assured him of the Bauchi state government’s support as he take on this noble responsibility.

“The Governor wished him a successful tenure in office and prayed that his leadership would foster progress and unity within the journalism profession in Nigeria,” he stated.
