As the majority of Nigerians continue to face hardship, the Chapel of Mercy Federal University, Gashua, FUGA, has requested for urgent assistance for Christian students.
This was contained in an appeal letter, signed by Dr. Ishaku James Dantata, the Vice Chairman of the Chapel, on behalf of the Chairman of Council of the University’s chapel.
“As the current semester draws to a close and the examination period is well underway, we find ourselves confronted with an urgent concern that requires immediate attention,” the letter, dated October 4, 2024,stated.
“The Chaplaincy of the Chapel of Mercy has brought to our notice a pressing issue affecting many of our Christian students.
“These students are struggling to provide for their basic needs, especially food, and their situation has deteriorated to a point where their wellbeing and academic performance are at serious risk.
“Given the severity of this challenge, we humbly solicit your assistance and compassionate support.
“As fellow believers and members of the Christian community, we recognize that Christ calls us to care for one another, especially in times of need.
“We are reaching out to request your kind contributions, either in cash or in kind (such as foodstuffs), to enable us to support our students during this critical period.
“Your contributions will directly help alleviate the hardship faced by these students, allowing them to focus on their studies and approach their exams with a clearer mind, knowing they are cared for and supported by the Christian community.
“Any assistance, no matter how small, will go a long way in making a significant difference in their lives.
“Ways You Can Support: a. Financial Contributions: Account Name: The University Christian Chapel of Mercy Account Number: 2031445540, Bank Name: First Bank b. Donations in Kind (Foodstuffs): Please direct food donations to: Mr. Godiya John (GSM:07069069841), Ag. Chaplain, FUGA Chapel of Mercy
“We are incredibly grateful for your continued generosity and support. Your willingness to extend a helping hand in times like these exemplifies the love of Christ in action”
