Just In: PDP Sweeps All 20 LGAs in Lacklustre Council Poll

Published

From Paul Orude Bauchi

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 20 Local Governments in the Saturday August 17 Local Government Election in Bauchi State.

The Executive Chairman of the Bauchí State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), Alhaji Ahmed Makama, announced the results in his office on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, had earlier  raised alarm that the ruling PDP and BASIEC would allegedly rig the election in favour of PDP.

The Chairmen – Elect are expected to be sworn-in on Sunday, August 18.

The council election was marred by voter apathy and late arrival of materials in most polling Units monitored by Metoric Post correspondent .

The APC and other opposition parties will likely not accept the results.
