Gombe: UNICEF Organises Media Dialogue To Mark 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD).

Bauchi Field Office of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) has slated a 2-Day media dialogue to celebrate the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrated every March 8 highlights the achievements rights of women worldwide.
The IWD 2024 media dialogue will highlight the strides made by the mama2mama initiative designed to improve health outcomes in the Field Office region, in Gombe, Bauchi, and Taraba states.
Through the dialogue, UNICEF aims to advocate for continued investment in women to advance positive social change stressing that, “It’s that time of the year again, when we talk all about the backbone of community advancement – Women.”
The media dialogue is scheduled to be held at the Evolution Hotel, Gombe, Gombe State with an in-house brainstorming on 6th and 7th March 2024.
The media engagement will expose selected Journalists to the important role of women in enhancing health outcomes; the importance of amplifying the role of women and gender equality in community health systems, among others.
UNICEF stressed that ensuring gender equality and promoting women’s well-being in all facets of life is paramount for building prosperous economies and fostering a healthy planet.
According to UNICEF, in Nigeria, evidence shows that women’s empowerment through education, knowledge of health, participation in decision-making, can lead to improved health outcomes for women and children.
