2027: Group Endorses Pantami As Gombe Governor

BY NAJIB SANI, GOMBE

A socio-political group known as ‘North East Coalition of Youth for Progressive Governance and Sustainable Development’ has endorsed a former minister of communication and digital economy Professor Isa Ali Pantami as the next governor of Gombe State.

The group through its Gombe State Secretary Gideon Musa made the endorsement on Saturday while addressing press conference.

He said their endorsement of Pantami was based on ‘his outstanding record of successes as a one time director general of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and minister of communication and digital economy.

According to the group, Pantami has empowered the citizens of the state digitally by opening Information Communication Technology (ICT) centres in schools and various parts of the state where people were trained and given access to internet facilities free of charge.

“Professor Pantami was the driving force behind the creation of regional offices across the nation including Gombe State in the northeast. The growth and accessibility of the region’s technological infrastructure have been made possible by the former minister.

“These offices have not only improved connections but have given the state’s workforce more opportunities for collaboration and a forum for innovation and information exchange.”, he said.

The coalition therefore called on the ex Buhari’s minister to accept their call to run for governorship seat of the state in the next election and the incumbent governor Inuwa Yahaya to support him as his successor come 2027.
