Bauchi Rerun Election: Ex-Speaker Suleiman of PDP Wins Ningi Constituency
The immediate past Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has been declared the winner of the rerun election for the Ningi State House Constituency.
The Independent National Electoral Commissioner Returning Officer the rerun elections, Prof. Ahmed Abdulhamid, made the declaration for after the collation of the results at the INEC office in Ningi.
“By the powers conferred on me as the Returning Officer, having fulfilled the requirements and scored the highest total number of votes cast, I, Prof. Ahmed Abdulhameed, hereby declare Abubakar Y. Suleiman of the PDP as the duly elected member of the State House of Assembly,” Abdulhamid disclosed
Recall that the Appeal Court had ordered a rerun of the election in 10 Polling Units of the Ningi State Constituency following an appeal by the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate against the judgment of the Tribunal.
