Supreme Court Judgement: Bauchi Governor Congratulates Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri

From Paul Orude Bauchi
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has congratulated his Adawawa counterpart, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on his affirmation by the Supreme Court as the duly elected governor of the state.
Mohammed, who made this known in a tweet on his X handle on Wednesday, described the judgment as a boost for democracy and the will of the people.
“Congratulations to my brother, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, our great party, PDP, and the resilient people of Adamawa State on the affirmation of the March 18 election results by the Supreme Court. This unanimous decision is a testament to the strength of our democracy and the will of the people. Wishing continued progress and prosperity for Adamawa State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Ahmadu Fintiri as the winner of the Adamawa State governorship election after polling 430,861 votes to defeat his major counterpart Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress who polled 398,788.
Binani had challenge the decision but tribunal and Court of Appeal had dismissed Binani’s petition challenging the victory of Finitiri in the governorship election held last year.
The Supreme Court subsequently affirmed the election of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri as Governor of Adamawa State as justice John Okoro, who prepared and read the lead judgment on Wednesday, dismissed the appeal by the governorship candidate of the APC, Aisha Dahiru
