Supreme Court Judgment: Kano CP Visits Emir Over Clashes Between Rival Parties

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, has paid homage to the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya to address the recent upsurge of political rivalry in Kademi community in the aftermath of the Supreme Court judgment.
According to Superintendent of Police Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, the CP held a round – table meeting at Gaya Emirate Council to find a lasting solution through employing Community-based approach.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police thanked the emir for the support to the Police Command and for spearheading a vibrant community policing in Gaya Emirate.
“We are here also for a round table meeting with the Stakeholders to find a community-based lasting solution to the political rivalry clash in the aftermath of the Kano State Governorship Supreme Court Judgment,” Gumel stated.
Gumel commended the emir for mobilising the stakeholders and creating a conducive environment for the round table discussion to hold.
In his response, the Emir welcomed the CP to Gaya Emirate and thanked him and his team for the commitment in policing not only Gaya Emirate but Kano State at large.
Alhaji DR. Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya called on all traditional rulers in his Emirate ranging from District Heads, Village Heads to Ward Heads to ensure there was no breakdown of law in their domains, warning that whoever instigated any breach of peace would be sanctioned.
The round table meeting at the Emirate Council was attended by Executive Chairmen of Gaya and Gabasawa Local Government Areas, representative of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) All Progressives Congress (APC), District Heads, Village, Heads, Ward Heads, Academicians, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Security Agencies.
Metoric Post reports that an eight-member committee was set up to look into the political clash between the supporters of APC and that of NNPP in Kademi, Gaya LGA with a view to finding a lasting solution employing Community-based approach.
