The Police spokesman in the state Mahid Muazu Abubakar who disclosed this said that the screening include physical check up and documents’ verification adding that they designated adequate officers to attend to the applicants.

While saying that everything about the exercise is free, the PPRO promised that all the 17, 000 applicants would be screened and nobody would be omitted or left out as directed by the commissioner of police in the state.

Also speaking with our correspondent, some of the applicants undergoing screenings stated that they applied for the job in order to help in tackling the myriad of security challenges bedeviling the nation.

They particularly said that they are worried about the escalation of thuggery in Gombe State assuring that if they get the jobs and retained in the state, they would decisively deal with the perpetrators of thuggery who pester the people of the town with criminal activities like phone snatching, killing, burglary and theft.
