As part of efforts to extend health insurance to all parts of Gombe state, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has commissioned offices of Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GO-HEALTH) in the 11 local government areas of the state.

The governor flagged off the programme in Yamaltu/Deba local government with the opening of the GO-HEALTH office at Deba general hospital.

Represented by his deputy Manasseh Jatau, the governor assured of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare service delivery is taken to the doorstep of everybody in the state.

He said the launching of the local governments offices was to strengthen the GO-HEALTH programme which was established since 2021 towards ensuring that residents have easy access to quality health service without any bottleneck.

“To ensure provision of access to quality health care service, government has so far enrolled over 140,000 persons in the state into the insurance scheme who have been accessing services at a reduced cost.”, he noted.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary GO-HEALTH Dr Abubakar Musa explained that the launching of call centres in the local government areas was aimed at making the programme more responsive to the health needs of the people adding that the call centres are equipped for easy digital capturing of beneficiaries.
