Katsina State Government Plans Significant Upgrade For General Amadi Rimi Orthopedic Hospital

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has revealed the State’s intentions to transform the General Amadi Rimi Orthopedic Hospital into a comprehensive healthcare facility, addressing crucial health needs for both the State and the country.
According to Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Radda shared this vision while meeting with the Management and Founders of Al-Qalam University Katsina, led by Vice Chancellor Professor Nasiru Musa Yawuri.
The governor mentioned that a committee of medical professionals has been engaged to propose necessary facilities for the upgrade, alongside the ongoing construction of the Dialysis Center at the Hospital.
He disclosed ongoing discussions with Saudi Arabia and other foreign countries for potential investments in healthcare delivery in the State, aiming to significantly improve healthcare services.
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda emphasized the initiative’s goal of minimizing the need for medical treatment abroad, benefiting people in Katsina and neighboring states.
Additionally, the Governor shared that the State Government is in contact with consultants from Tokyo and the United Kingdom for collaboration in managing health institutions in the State.
He highlighted the potential for the upgraded hospital to become a teaching hospital for Ummaru Musa Yar’adua University once the fifteen-year agreement with the Former Federal Medical Center expires.
Addressing the Al-Qalam University delegation; the Governor encouraged them to request inclusion in Tetfund beneficiaries from the Federal Government, assuring his support.
In response, Vice Chancellor Professor Nasiru Musa Yawuri expressed gratitude for the Governor’s commitment and requested support for fencing the university due to security concerns.
The State Government anticipates fruitful collaboration to shape the future of healthcare and education in Katsina State.
