The Court of Appeal on Friday in Abuja affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State.

The Appeal Court dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Saddique Baba Abubakar, dissatisfied with INEC’s declaration.

In its judgment, the Appeal Court upheld the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which had earlier ruled in favour Mohammed second-term victory as declared by INEC.

Reacting to the judgement, the Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau lauded the Appeal Court verdict.

Jatau was excited on the successful victory alongside Governor Mohammed and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 governorship election in the state.

The Deputy Governor further expressed his sincere appreciation to the Appeal Court for ensuring a fair and transparent judicial process and  emphasized that the resounding victory at the appeal court is a triumph for all the state’s people, signifying the PDP-led administration’s collective efforts in advancing good governance, providing quality education, ensuring accessible healthcare, fostering economic growth, and promoting peace and unity.

“On behalf of the entire stakeholders of our administration, I extend my profound gratitude to our Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his tenacity, courage, and resilience.”

“I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the citizens of Bauchi state for their unwavering support and trust in our administration.Their resilience, determination, and belief in our vision has brought us to this remarkable milestone today. Their faith in us fuels us to work towards a brighter and more prosperous future tirelessly.”
