Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to deliver judgement Friday

The Plateau State Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal will deliver judgment on the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Dr. Nentawe Yiltwatda on Friday.
Yiltwatda is challenging the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 election.
A member of PDP’s legal team, Barrister Sunday Odey confirmed the judgment date to in Jos.
“The ruling of the governorship tribunal in the case between the PDP and the APC has been fixed for Friday, September 22, 2023,″ Odey said.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mutfwang the winner of the poll after polling 525,299 votes to beat Yiltwatda who scored 481,370 votes.
The tribunal had earlier dismissed the petition filed by the governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Alfred Dabwan against Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
Dabwan had approached the tribunal seeking the nullification of the poll over the alleged exclusion of his party’s logo on the ballot by INEC.
