2023: Tinubu pledges to secure Nigeria and improve citizens welfare

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has promised to secure Nigeria and improve the welfare of citizens if elected as President in the forthcoming general election.
Tinubu gave the assurance during an
interactive session held at Arewa House, Kaduna yesterday, organised Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa and Arewa Youths Consultative Forum.
The interactive session was attended by Governors of Kebbi, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Jigawa and Plateau States.
Several issues that border on both national and regional interests were discussed while the session was moderated by the Chairman, Arewa Elders Forum, Professor Ango Abdullahi and that of Arewa Consultative Forum Chief Audu Ogbe.
Tinubu said if elected, his administration will give more emphasis on improved welfare, manpower training and the purchase of modern equipments for the nation’s military.
He said the military will be highly trained and equipped in order to boost the morale of the country’s security forces to enable them eliminate banditry and protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria from terrorists and other criminal elements.
He further said his administration would guarantee effective management of resources with more attention on the exploitation of the resources available across all the 774 Local Government Areas in the country.
Tinubu explained that this will be done in addition to general economic recovery through encouraging direct investment to create more jobs for the youths.
He said the nation’s power plant in Kainji, Zungeru and the proposed Mambila, together with other hydro power plants would be upgraded for maximum utilisation while the nineteen northern states would be encouraged to actualise the planned solar powered plants.
The APC Presidential candidate emphasised that issues of corruption and that of out of school children would also be properly addressed. Adding that Agricultural production in the north would be revived for more job creation to our teeming population.
On his part the chief host and the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufa’i, said the collective decision of Northern Governors in shifting power to the South was in the best interest of justice.
El-Rufa’i opined that the emergence of Tinubu as APC’s Presidential candidate was a good development and expressed confidence that with their collective support he will win the election and make Nigeria great.
Others who spoke include the Vice Presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Alhaji Muneer Ja’afaru Madawakin Zazzau, members of the Arewa Élders Forum, and the Sardaunan Katsina Alhaji Ibrahim Ida.
