Muslim-Muslim ticket: Islamic group tackles Dogara over call on Christians not to waste their votes
The Chairman of the Bauchi State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, on Wednesday, reacted to statements linked to Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara in which he condemned the idea of a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the forth-coming 2023 presidential election.
Recall that Dogara had last week warned Christians in Nigeria not to waste their votes for the APC in next year’s elections.
Dogara explained that the adoption of the same faith Presidential and Vice-president ticket by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is antithetical to the country’s quest for nation-building.
However, in a statement released on Wednesday, the Bauchi Chapter chairman of MURIC, Barrister Idrees Safiyanu Gambo, called on Dogara to follow the spirit of his name and ‘Dogara ga Allah’, which means leave everything to God.
“To us in MURIC, his political party is never an issue, but the future has a way of rewriting the result of the past”
