Failed abortion: l killed my girlfriend and burnt her corpse, suspect confessed

A 27 year old man in Bauchi State has confessed to killing his 13 old girlfriend Safiya Alhaji Danladi who was declared missing.

The suspect, Munkaila Ado narrated that the missing Sefiya was his girlfriend.

Ado said Sefiya was four months pregnant for him to the knowledge of her mother but unknown to the father, Alhaji Danladi Mohammed.

The suspect revealed that he conspired with the mother of the missing girl and his accomplice Muazu Umar and took the victim to Gombe to procure an abortion.

He said on reaching Gombe, the victim was led to one Hajiya Amina Abubakar, 50, in Jekada Fari behind specialist hospital Gombe.

He said Sefiya was administered with some substances to cause miscarriage.

Eventually on their way to Mai’ari village along Akko LGA Gombe State, Munkaila and his friend decided to strangulate the victim.

Ado said Sefiya fell unconscious and died and he and his friend burnt her body beyond recognition.

He said they buried her in a shallow grave at a nearby bush in Akko LGA Gombe state.

The two suspects were arrested by the police.

Sadly, they violated the human rights and dignity of the deceased girl child.

Irked by the gruesome murder, the Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Umar Sanda has ordered for full-scale investigation.

The police is investigating the suspects for criminal Conspiracy and Culpable Homicide.

A press statement from the Bauchi State Police command, issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, said the deceased father, Alhaji Danladi Mohammed of Mai’ari Arewa village Pali lodged a formal complaint at the Divisional Police Headquarters Alkaleri on August 10, 2022

Mohammed alleged that on August 4, 2022 his daughter Safiya,13, left home and was declared missing.

The bereaved father said he strongly suspected his house boy Munkaila Ado, 27yrs and one Muazu Umaru aged 35 are the principal suspects on the whereabouts of his missing daughter.

“On the strength of that preliminary investigation commence,” Wakil disclosed.

He said the scene was visited led by Divisional Police Officer of Alkaleri and evacuated the victim to General Hospital Alkaleri.

He said the teenager was certified dead by a medical Doctor.


The Command assured the general public will continue to be updated as the investigation unfolds.

The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Umar Mamman Sanda fdc directed that the case be transferred to SCID for discreet investigation.
