2027: We have no reason not to vote Gov Bala for Senate – Bauchi Commissioner, Prof Ketkukah

By: Ayuba Maffi, Bauchi
The Bauchi State commissioner of works and transport, Engr. Prof, Titus Saul Ketkukah, on Sunday said that the people of Bauchi South senatorial district, particularly Tapshin community have no reason whatsoever not to vote for Governor Bala Mohammed as their senator come 2027.
According to the commissioner, Bala Mohammed who has worked tirelessly for Bauchi State, has specifically wiped away their tears by building bridges and other infrastructural development in the area.
The commissioner said this during the political stakeholders meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) which was held in Government Day Secondary School Tapshin, Tafawa-Balewa local government area of the state.
He said that the governor put an end to their years of exclusion and several lives lost in an attempt to cross the river on foot, untold hardship taking fertilizers home and farm produce out to market places.
He further said that the 21st century generation and generations unborn will never forget him for the construction of Boi-Tapshin Road during his regime.
According to the commissioner, “Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s kindness is beyond measure. He has wiped away our tears by building a bridge across the river”
“The project has boosted economic activities and improved safety for the communities. It is a critical route for trade and movement in between Bauchi and Plateau State. Beyond easing transportation, the road has restored hope and dignity to the communities long neglected by successive administration”
He said that all the past governors of the state failed to execute projects in Tapshin Community until the coming of the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed.
“His Excellency has transformed the Tapshin community into an urban area by constructing the Boi-Tapshin road, including a standard bridge that links Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas in Bauchi State and Pankshin in Plateau State. For years, the communities along the road corridor were cut off during the rainy season because of the river and washing away of roads due to floods leading to loss of lives”
Ketkukah further said that during the wet season, flooding from Tapshin river historically paralyzed local transport, leaving travelers and locals completely stranded for days and making it incredibly difficult to transport agricultural products. The river claimed many lives including pregnant women and children crossing the river and due to delay in taking patients to local health centers away from Tapshin.
“I recall painful experiences of being stranded many times and leaving my car at Boi to cross the river on foot and motor bike whenever the rainy season sets in. We went through hell especially during the rainy season because of lack of an access road”
He said that governor Bala has provided impactful road projects that are significant to the local economy and daily lives of citizens, construction of rural roads have provided communities with improved access to markets, schools and health care services which have enhanced daily lives of citizens.
Added that in Urban centers numerous township roads have been constructed and under constructions. Dual carriageways have been constructed in major towns of Bauchi, Ningi, Misau and Azare “These enhance free flow of traffic and reduce accidents”
“The most impactful road projects are the two flyovers in Bauchi town at Wunti gate and central market roundabouts. They will reduce accidents and boost economic activities within the town due to improve access and connectivity”
“Governor Bala Mohammed’s decision to establish new Emirates, the Sayawa Chiefdom, and Districts in Bauchi State is a landmark move that deepens grassroots governance, promotes inclusivity, and honors the cultural autonomy of diverse communities.
“The creation of Tapshin District is a recent administrative and traditional milestone in the Zaar Chiefdom of Tafawa-Balewa Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The district was officially established to enhance grassroots governance and bring traditional leadership closer to the people. Elevating Tapshin to district status is intended to foster localized peace, socio-economic development, and administrative unity in the region”
“Tapshin is a District having boundary with Pankshin, Kanke and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State. His Excellency is making effort to provide a Police outpost in Tapshin enhance easy access to security personnel and reduce crimes”
“There is so much more of what His Excellency has done to the Tapshin District and much more to come. I just mentioned a few to show the love that his Excellency has for the Tapshin Community. Nobody can content with Senator Bala Mohammed”
He said that not only that but in the same Tapshin district, governor Bala appointed Samuel Jatau Haruna as the executive secretary of the State Christian pilgrims board and later replaced him with Ibrahim Mohammed Gwallang,
Titus Saul Ketkukah, commissioner of works and transport, said all their appointments marks the first time Tapshin community in the Tafawa-Balewa local government received such a high level political position.
The commissioner of works and transport, Titus Saul Ketkukah urged for unity and team work ahead of the 2027 general election to come.
The Commissioner explained to stakeholders why governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of the state adopted APM and called on APM and PDP executives to work together harmoniously.
