2027: Gov Bala Mohammed Leads PDP Reconciliation Drive

From Paul Orude Bauchi
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has moved to calm the internal crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, taking up the role of chairman of a newly formed high-powered consultative committee to steer reconciliation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision emerged from an emergency stakeholders’ meeting convened by the governor in response to growing factional tensions and concerns over the timeline for submission of party candidates.
The closed-door session, held at the Government House, brought together key party figures and highlighted the seriousness of the situation within the state chapter of the PDP.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the State PDP Chairman, Samaila Adamu Burga, said stakeholders reached a unanimous agreement to establish a reconciliation and strategy committee.
He explained that the committee, headed by Governor Bala Mohammed, has been tasked with resolving all outstanding disagreements within one week and repositioning the party for a seamless outing in the 2027 elections.
Burga expressed confidence that the intervention would foster unity, rebuild trust among members, and boost the PDP’s chances of electoral success in Bauchi State
