Kashim Rejects Fraud Claims, Insists Exit as Bauchi SSG Was Not Linked to Any Wrongdoing
From Paul Orude Bauchi
Former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, has firmly dismissed allegations of fraud levelled against him.
Kashim insisted that his tenure in office was never tainted by any form of financial impropriety or official misconduct.
Reacting to claims credited to Governor Bala Mohammed that his removal from office was due to alleged fraud, Kashim described the assertion as inaccurate and misleading.
He stressed that no investigative body ever indicted or queried him while he served as SSG.
According to Kashim, throughout his time in office, no audit report, panel of inquiry, law enforcement agency, or anti-corruption institution found him culpable of fraud or financial mismanagement.
He maintained that his resignation was not connected to any wrongdoing, adding that his record in public service remains clean and verifiable.
The former SSG said he discharged his duties with commitment, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.
He assured that he is prepared at any time to give a full account of his stewardship to any competent authority or to the Nigerian public.
Kashim expressed concern over what he described as the growing tendency to push false narratives against individuals who have served the state.
He warned that such claims undermine fairness, accountability, and truth in public discourse.
He further disclosed plans to engage the media and the public in the coming days, where he intends to present detailed facts to counter the allegations and clarify the circumstances surrounding his exit from office.
“Facts, not rhetoric, should guide public judgment,” he said, reaffirming his confidence that the truth of the matter will stand scrutiny.
