By Paul Orude, Bauchi
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Bauchi State Specialists Hospital, Professor Abdulkarim Garba, has announced the temporary relocation of some hospital services to alternative facilities to allow for comprehensive renovation and upgrading of the hospital complex.
Addressing journalists during a press briefing at the Government House, Bauchi, Professor Garba explained that the decision was taken to facilitate uninterrupted healthcare delivery while the hospital undergoes major reconstruction.
According to him, key units such as the Accident and Emergency Department will continue to operate from the newly constructed section within the hospital premises.
However, the Paediatric Emergency, Medical Ward, Dental and Eye Clinics, as well as the Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Medical Records departments, have been temporarily moved to Tashan Babiye.
The CMD further disclosed that Maternity Services, Immunization, HIV Clinic, and other related departments will now operate from the Urban Maternity, Kofar Ran, within the Bauchi metropolis for the duration of the renovation.
Professor Garba appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the public, emphasizing that the relocation is temporary and designed to ensure greater efficiency and improved healthcare services once the upgrade is completed.
He assured that the renovated hospital would be equipped with modern facilities to meet the growing healthcare needs of the people of Bauchi State and beyond.
