Bauchi Gov Hosts PDP Reconciliation Committee, Reaffirms Commitment to Party Unity

The Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the ongoing reconciliation efforts within the PDP, stressing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Communication, Abduwahab Mohammed, on Friday, made available to journalists in Bauchi.

According to the release, Governor Mohammed made the statement when he hosted members of the PDP Reconciliation Committee led by Ambassador Hassan Adamu (Wakili Adamawa) at his residence in Abuja.

The committee, recently inaugurated by the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) under the leadership of Senator Adolphus Wabara, is saddled with the responsibility of engaging key stakeholders across the country to foster peace, unity, and internal harmony within the party,it added 

The release added that speaking during the meeting, Governor Bala Mohammed assured the committee of the full support of the PDP Governors’ Forum for the reconciliation initiative, describing it as a timely move to strengthen the party’s internal structures and prepare for future political engagements.

According to the release, he reiterated the governors’ collective support for the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, noting that “internal cohesion and mutual understanding are essential to the PDP’s continued relevance and success.”

It stated that in his remarks, Ambassador Hassan Adamu commended Governor Mohammed for his steadfast leadership and strategic counsel. 

He assured that the committee would continue to engage with all segments of the party across the six geopolitical zones to deepen internal democracy and rebuild confidence among members, it went further.

The meeting, according to observers, marks another milestone in the PDP’s ongoing efforts to consolidate unity among its ranks ahead of future elections, the release concluded.
