Gombe State chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded the state commissioner for agriculture Dr. Barnabas Malle, for what it calls historic fertilizer distribution extended to more farmers and groups of people in the state.
In a press release by the state chairman, Comrade Usman Wakil, the association said this year’s fertiliser distribution reached more citizens and was done in good time, leading to better farming and yields.
“This year’s distribution exercise stands out as the most effective and timely in the history of Gombe State, setting a new benchmark for agricultural support in Nigeria.
“By ensuring that farmers received fertilizer at the right time, the Honourable Commissioner has not only strengthened the confidence of the farming community but also provided a solid foundation for increased agricultural productivity, food sufficiency, and rural empowerment.
NANS proudly recognizes that this remarkable success is a direct reflection of the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, whose commitment to agriculture as the backbone of Gombe’s economy has remained unwavering”, he said .
The association added that the governor’s emphasis on food security, job creation, and the empowerment of rural communities continues to inspire policies and actions that guarantee sustainable development in the state.
NANS reaffirms its belief that agriculture remains a critical driver of economic stability, poverty reduction, and national prosperity calling on all stakeholders, farmers, youth, development partners, and private investors to rally behind the state government’s agricultural agenda.
“We salute Dr. Barnabas Malle for translating the governor’s vision into practical results and urge him to sustain this legacy of excellence. NANS assures the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of our total support in all efforts geared towards empowering the people, uplifting farmers, and safeguarding food security for generations to come”, the association pledged.
