Liverpool Beat Bournemouth 4-2 to record first premier league Win

The 2025/2026 premier league season started on a good note for defending champion Liverpool as they overcame a stubborn Bournemouth team to secure 4-2 victory at home.
A minute silence was observed in honour of late Diogo Jota before kick off
New signing Ekitike put Liverpool ahead in the 37th minute with a debute goal
Ekitike then provided an assist to Gakpo who scored in the 49th minute of the second half to put the home team ahead 2-0.
However Semenyo gave Bournemouth a live line in the 64th with a fine finish to make it 2-1
The game became tense as Liverpool brought on Jones and Gomez in the 70th minute to replace McAllister and Gapko as Bnemouth pressed for an equalizer to level the game
The visiting team’s press paid off and in the 76th minute as Semenyo secured a brace to make it 2-2 following a fine counter Football after Liverpool lost possession in a bid to attack.
From that point Liverpool kept searching for a winning goal as Bournemouth kept looking more dangerous.
Slazobai missed a good chance in 78th minute to put the hone team in front again.
Substitute Chiesa put Liverpool in the lead again in the 88th after miscommunication from Bournemouth defence.
The game became charged as Bournemouth kept Liverpool fans on the edge as they kept pressing for the equalizer.
With 6 minutes of added time, the match became interesting as Liverpool tried to defend their win as the home team pressed on relentlessly. But Liverpool has the final say as Sallah got his much deserved goal in honour of club’s hero Diogo Jota after dancing round the Bournemouth defence.
