Bauchi Police Rescue Two Kidnap Victims, Neutralise Bandit, Recover AK-47

The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued two kidnapped victims in a joint operation that left one suspected bandit dead and an AK-47 rifle recovered.
Police spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the incident followed an early morning attack on Kataraje village, near Kalgo and Alkaleri, in the Gwana District of the Yankari Game Reserve, at about 2:30 am on Friday.
During the attack, 60-year-old Alhaji Ango Mallam Idi and 35-year-old Musa Alhaji Shumo were abducted, while 50-year-old Rabiu Sale and 45-year-old Sale Akko sustained injuries.
Wakil disclosed that the Command received information from Yalo and Mansur communities around 6 am on Saturday and swiftly mobilised a joint operations team to the scene.
“The injured persons were given medical attention, while operatives tracked the suspects. A gun duel ensued, during which one bandit was neutralised, and an AK-47 rifle recovered,” he said.
The hostages were rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.
