Wikki Tourists Fall to Nasarawa United in 5-Goal Thriller

Despite Wikki Tourists suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat to Nasarawa United in their second match of the ongoing 2025 Gusau/Ahlan Preseason Tournament in Lafia, Coach Maikaba Stresses Positives Ahead of Next Clash.

Reacting to the outcome, Maikaba acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized the match’s importance in evaluating newly recruited players ahead of the new NPFL season.
“It’s painful losing a match, but this tournament is a platform to test new players who are trying to earn a place in the squad. We’ve seen some positives and also identified areas that need improvement,” Maikaba said.
He assured fans that necessary corrections would be made ahead of their next group game against SI14 FC on Thursday.
Despite the setback, Wikki Tourists remain focused on fine-tuning preparations for the new season. The team had earlier opened their campaign on a winning note with a 2-1 victory over Ben FC of Jos on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
