Yobe State Governor Appoints Gadaka as New Emir of Gudi

Following the passing of the Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Kaji, the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Hon. Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka as the new Mai Gudi.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by Shuaibu Abdullahi, Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government.
Hon. Gadaka, a seasoned public servant and banker, brings a wealth of experience to the throne. He represented Fika/Fune Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019 and served as Yobe State Commissioner between 2007 and 2010.
He currently chairs the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi State, and the Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee—both roles he assumed in 2024.
Before his political career, Gadaka worked with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Standard Trust Bank, where he rose to the position of Business Manager. Until his appointment, he held the traditional title of Yariman Gudi.
The late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Kaji, died in Abuja following a prolonged illness.
