Morocco Beats Ghana 4-3 Via Penalty Shoot Out In Extra Time To Set Final With Nigeria

Morocco has beaten Ghana via penalties in extra time to advance to the final in the Africa Cup of Nations 2024 (held in 2025).
The host will face Nigeria in the final after the former defeated South Africa earlier on Tuesday (22 July) in their semi-final match-up.
Ghana has the lead when Stella Nyamekye scored in the 27th minute of the first half but Morocco equalized through Sakina Ouzraoui in the 54th minute of the second half
The game then went into extra time and both Morocco and Ghana were unable to find the net.
It was settled via a penalty shoot out. Ghana ‘s Evelyn Badu had missed her penalty kick before Morocco’s keeper Er-Rmichi
saved Comfort Yeboah’s penalty kick.
Earlier in the match between Nigeria and South Africa
Held in Casablanca, Morocco, the final score was 2-1.
Rasheedat Ajibade had put Nigeria on the board first, scoring in the 45th minute from the penalty spot.
That lead held into the break, but the match was levelled soon after the start of the second half when Linda Motlhalo equalised for South Africa with a penalty kick of their own.
Three and a half minutes into added time, Nigeria found the back of the net to go ahead as Deborah Abiodun scored (90+4’). That was enough to assure victory.
Nigeria has long dominated the fixture, having won 16 of the 24 meetings between the two nations. Prior to their semi-final clash, South Africa had won three of the past five
