PDP Dismisses Atiku’s Exit, Says “We Still Expect Him Back” – Damagum

The Acting National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ambassador Aliya Damagum , has said that the exit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the party is not unusual, saying they are still expecting him back.
“Well it is expected because this is not the first time and I don’t think it will be the last time, we were still expect him any moment from now,” Damagum who fieled questions from journalists at Government House, Bauchi, on Friday, said
Speaking on the exit of Atiku and other party stalwarts from the PDP, Damagum predicted that the resignation of its 2023 Presidential Candidate was normal, adding that the party was expecting Atiku to potentially return to the party.
Atiku had resigned from the party Wednesday In a letter addressed to the Chairman of Jada 1 Ward in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Atiku Abubakar citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for his exit from the PDP.
He stated that the PDP had derailed from.the original vision of the founding fathers, of which he is one, in 1998 and unable to amicably resolve the crises that bedevilled it.
