Fire Razes Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s Qur’anic school

Fire has razed the College for Qur’anic Science and Islamic Studies of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi located at Rafin Albasa in Bauchi State.
It was gathered that the fire destroyed the College’s multi-story buildings, offices, classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, libraries, and a staff room on the upper floor of the school.
The cause of the inferno is yet to be known at the time of filing this report
Also destroyed were clothing materials, mattresses, blankets, and other valuable belongings of staff and students.
The Director General of Education at Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, Sayyadi Aliyu Sise Dahiru, commiserated with the staff and students of the College.
Side Dahiru thanked God that there was no loss of life and no student sustained any injury.
“The College was established by Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and affiliated with Al-Azhar University, Cairo. It was commissioned by the former President, Architect Muhammad Namadi Sambo,” the DG said
“The college offers Western education alongside Islamic education, as well as entrepreneurial skills, to its students to make them productive members of society..
“We thank the Almighty Allah that the incident happened after school hours in the evening.
“We also thank the men of the State Fire Service, who spent over three hours before they were able to put out the fire.”
He lamented that books belonging to Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Late Dr. Hadi Sheikh Dahiru, Late Ahmad Sheikh Dahiru, and many other Islamic scholars were destroyed in the fire.
The Director of the State Fire Service, who spoke through Moh’d Labubakar, provided details on the extent of the damage, stating that the fire razes the school’s properties and valuable documents, including: – Library books: approximately 5,000 – Students’ mattresses: 250 – Beds: 250 – Carpet: 355 meters – Wardrobes/Lockers: 24 – Students’ chairs: 300 – Foodstuffs in the store: – Rice: 60 bags – Beans: 25 bags – Palm oil: 12 jerricans – Groundnut oil: 13 jerricans – Maggie/Onga/Salt: 15 cartons – Mats: 43 pieces – Rubber cattle: 150 pieces – Students’ clothes: 1,583 pieces – Students’ writing and textbooks: 7,228 pieces – Students’ plates: 317 pieces – Teachers’ clothes: 89 sets – Handsets: 3 – Students’ credentials
