Ahead of the upcoming Sallah festivities, a Bauchi based charity organisation, ‘Wunti Al-khair Foundation’ has organised a refresher training to islamic groups in the state on crowd management and traffic control.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the two-day training themed ‘Enhancing Volunteerism For Safer Eid Gathering’ held at the conference hall of Bauchi central mosque, the representative of the foundation, Umar Abubakar Magani, explained that over 230 participants would be trained during the workshop.

He said the training was meant to help ensure safe and hitch-free Sallah festivities.

Another official of the organisation, Isiyaka Ismail Wunti, said the foundation has been training groups every year on security, first aid or traffic control for Sallah festivals.

He said in addition to that, the foundation also rescues missing children on Sallah days and keeps them in safe custody till they are reunited with their parents.

In his speech, the national coordinator of the Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI), an umbrella b Noody of all islamic groups in the nation, Bala Ibrahim Sani lauded the foundation for organising the refresher training, emphasising its importance.

He asked the participants to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the training by availing themselves to serve on the eid day.

The state commissioner for religious affairs, Muhammed Binni Abdulkadir represented by the acting permanent secretary of the ministry, Lawan Muhammad praised the foundation for the training saying it would complement the efforts of government and security agents in ensuring peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebrations.

Our correspondent reports that the foundation donated one bag of rice to each of the participants at the end of the opening ceremony.
