Bauchi: ITF to Collaborate with MAWOYDI To Train Women and Youths
From Paul Orude Bauchi
The Area Manager, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Bauchi Area Office, Mr. Ashore Ekare Paul, has pledged to collaborate with Mafita Women and Youth Development Initiative (MAWOYDI) to train indigent women and youths in Bauchi State.
Mr Ekere gave the assurance on Wednesday in Bauchi, when the board and management of MAWOYDI, led by the Executive Director, Mrs. Theresa Orude, paid a courtesy call to him in his office.
He commended MAWOYDI for coming up with the good initiative to empower women and youths in Bauchi State through various skills acquisition programmes.

“ITF will do everything possible, anything within our power to support your noble idea,” he assured.
“The mandate of the ITF is to promote, provide and encourage the acquisition of skill both in the private and public sector.
“The whole idea is to generate a pool of trained manpower that will be sufficient to run this economy. All these years that is what we have been doing and we have been doing it well.
The ITF Area Manager disclosed that recently the federal government saddled the Fund with yet another programme called the Skilled Up Artisans (SUPA)
“We just rounded off the first short of the pilot test,” he revealed,
“Your organisation’s vision and mission for the youth and women is commendable and we will see how we can coopt your people into this programme.
“The second short will be much higher and will involve many people.

“All you need to do is to strategy on how to harness the programme of your organisation and blend your own programme with ours in terms of the organization’s various trade areas.
“As soon as the second phase is rolled out we will avail you of that opportunity so that we sit down together again to see how we can bring you in.
“It’s a federal government programme that is absolutely free and MAWOYDI is for humanity as a non –profit organisation. It will be a perfect blend between MAFITA and ITF”
Speaking earlier, Orude commended ITF for providing skills to indigent Nigerians thereby enhancing human resources development nation-wide.
“This is not far from what MAWOYDI is doing in Bauchi since inception in 2022,” she said.
“We have empowered several poor women in Miri, Lushi, Sabon Kaura through skills acquisition.

“ITF has a mandate and so is MAWOYDI to promote, provide skills which align with the National Skills Industrial Development Programme.
“We hope to key into the various training programmes of ITF, especially the SUPA programme and we would be glad if MAWOYDI is part of it”
