Senator Buba, nightmare of Bauchi governor – Group
Our Editor
A Bauchi based group under the aegis of ‘Concerned Citizens of Bauchi State’ has stated that the momentum, relevance and clout that the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba is gathering has become a nightmare to Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state.
Mr Musa Nabado, the Chairperson of the group stated this in a news conference in Bauchi on Thursday on behalf of the group.
According to him, Buba, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence is becoming more popular as a grassroot politician bringing the dividend of democracy to not only the people in his constituency but the state at large.
He said “it is pertinent to mention that, the governor of Bauchi State does not just see the distinguished Senator as a political opponent but he has labeled him as a targeted enemy who should be politically crushed or even eliminated.
“This has made the Governor lose his sleep over the continued relevance and clout that the Senator is building since he was elected into the Senate.
“Already, various political groups, particularly youths and women have been calling on the senator to contest for the governorship seat in 2027.
“Although the present Governor is serving his second and final term, the political momentum and support the Senator is gathering continues to send shock across the governor’s camp who many see as emperor in the State.
“He fears that, should the senator win the seat, no doubt he will be subjected to investigation especially with the way he has mismanaged the State’s resources under the guise of white elephant projects”.
The group, through its Chairman further called on all well meaning residents of the State and Nigerians in general to support the senator in the cause of discharging his duties and representing his constituency
