Only PDP has the capacity to deliver Nigeria– Bauchi Governor
From Paul Orude Bauchi
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed says only the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has the capacity to deliver Nigeria from its current woes.
Mohammed is confident that the main opposition party can be repositioned to wrest power from the ruling All Progressive Progress in 2027 despite its current crisis.
Mohammed, who is the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, made this known when he received the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, led by its Chairman, Chief Adolphus Wabara, former President of the Senate, at Government House , Bauchi, on Wednesday.
The PDP is facing a serious crisis as the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara is locked in a power play with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, over the soul of the party in Rivers.
Despite the raging political crisis in Rivers, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum is rest assured that the visits of the BOT and a delegation of the National Working Committee (NWC) to Bauchi was a source of encouragement to resolve it and reposition the party.
He said efforts were on by the governors of the PDP to reconcile Wike and Fubara with support from major organs of the party.
The BOT visited the governor a day after the PDP sent a delegation of the NWC.
“I am very optimistic of PDP reclaiming power in 2027 and I am encouraged by the visits of the BOT and the NWC, and the resolve of the governors to close ranks” he said.
The governor was also confident that the resolution PDP of the governors to close ranks would surmount whatever obstacles in the party.
The governors’ forum had resolved to back Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers in line with the constitution of the PDP. The forum’s decision was also supported by the BOT and the NWC.
Despite the Governors’ forum’s resolution, Mohammed said Wike remains a key member of the PDP though the former Rivers governor’s decision to serve in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed optimism that only the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has the capacity to deliver Nigeria from its current woes.

Mohammed, who is the Chairman of PDP Governors’ made this known when he received the Board of Trustees (BoT), led by the Chairman Chief Adolphos Wabara, former President of the Senate at Government House , Bauchi, on Wednesday, as part of efforts to rebuild the party.
The PDP is facing one of its most trying moments as the Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara is locked in a power play with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory over the structure of the party in Rivers ahead of local government elections in the state.
Despite the crisis, Mohammed was rest assured that the visits of the BOT and a delegation of the National Working Committee (NWC) to Bauchi was a source of encouragement.
He said efforts were made by the governors of the PDP to reconcile Wike and Fubara and reposition the party to win elections with support from the major organs of the party.
The BOT team, which included former governor Achike Udenwa,(Imo), Ahmed Makarfi, (Kaduna), Sam Egwu (Ebonyi) among other heavyweights visited the governor a day after the PDP sent a delegation of the NWC.
Despite the Governors’ forum’s resolution, Mohammed said Wike remains a key member of the PDP though the former Rivers governor’s decision to serve in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was bizarre.
“But there is no challenge that is insurmountable,” Mohammed stated.
“It will be surmounted by the grace of God and we will find a solution that
“It is only PDP with the experience of governors and what have you that is being challenged.
You will noticed that the crisis is a creation of the other side who want us to be in disarray
“They always want to have moles within us, they always want to have knowledge of what is going on
“Even Wike that is in APC, is PDP and he is performing very well because they (APC) don’t have people that will perform like our members that is why they picked him and gave him a structure to run.
“To us it’s a commendation that irrespective of the bizarre situation it is a recognition that PDP has the capital to deliver Nigeria”
