A 30 year old man in Bauchi State has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing his elder brother to death.
The suspect, Isyaku Babale of Anguwan Dawaki in Bauchi metropolis, allegedly committed the heinous crime following a heated argument that ensued between him and his brother.
The unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, March 31, 2024, when the suspect asked the elder brother to stop taking Cold Patch Liquid popularly known as ‘Sholi’ in their room.
Isyaku complained of the unpleasant smell of the liquid.
Rather than settling the issue amicably, the two siblings resorted to argument.
The two brother became furious with each other and began fighting.
The younger brother ran and picked a sharp object suspected to be a knife and stabbed his elder brother in his stomach.
Investigations revealed that both the suspect and the victim used to engage in fighting using dangerous weapons against each other.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bauchi State Command, Superintendent of Police Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the incident in a press release, on Monday.
Wakil said the suspect was arrested following a report received by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Township Police Station Bauchi.
He said the victim was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
