Bauchi: NAWOJ, American Space Train 30 Women Journalist Bloggers

National Association of Women Journalist (NAWAOJ) in collaboration with American Space of the Professor Iya Abubakar Resource Centre, Bauchi, has organized a training for 30 female journalists on blogging in Bauchi State.

Chairperson of NAWOJ in Bauchi State, Rashida Yusuf disclosed this during the training saying the second batch of 30 female journalists would benefit from the training.

Speaking shortly after the training was declared open, the NAWOJ Chairperson said the training was to encourage female journalists to go into blogging and take advantage of the opportunities in blogging.         

‘These are not ordinary bloggers but professional bloggers, women journalists who are also bloggers in their own area of work,” she said.

“We are here for the training to advance ourselves in the profession to package and disseminate what we are known for, spreading of information.

“These are group of women journalists selected from virtually all the media organization in the state.

“We have 30 participants and another set of 30 participants will come from another training.

“Training will impact positively doing on their profession of journalism.

“This training will equip bloggers to us develop content based on their experience in journalism alarming their passion and interest.

“The target is to help them to be independent and engage in blogging after retirement or when leaving their organizations”

One of the facilities, Nasru Launi, encouraged journalists to begin their blog, enumerating the advantages that come with blogging.

Zainab Sabitu,a broadcaster with Albarka radio and a blogger, said the training was impactful

“With this training we will put more efforts in creating more contents for our blog,” she said.

“Even if our organization did not carry the news because of some procedures, and editorial judgment, you can use that news that you covered or site and give the accurate news in your blog
