Katsina: Police kill 17 suspected kidnappers , arrest 1,627 suspected criminals -CP

Katsina State Police Command has killed 17 suspected kidnappers and arrested 1,627 suspects in connection with 938 reported cases of various crimes.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, who shared the achievements of the command in the year under review in a press conference.

CP Musa disclosed that the command rescued 171 kidnapped victims in 2023 while 67 human trafficking victims were rescued..

Further breakdown showed the command arrested 258 suspected armed robbers, 64 kidnappers, 176 murder suspects, and 369 suspects involved in rape/sodomy.

The CP said no fewer than 855 cases were charged to court for prosecution in the year under review and recovery of firearms, ammunition, stolen vehicles, and other exhibits

He said made significant strides in tackling banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal activities in the state.

CP Musa expressed gratitude to God, the Katsina state government, and the Inspector General of Police for their support.

He urged unrepentant criminals in the state to surrender and warned of impending arrests.

He acknowledged the cooperation of the media and called for continued support from the public in the fight against crime.
