Bauchi: Lawmaker raises alarm over wave of kidnappings in Toro Federal Constituency

The member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honorable Dabo Ismail Haruna, has raised alarm over the spate of kidnappings in his constituency.

Haruna called on the Federal Government to immediately deploy more security agencies to the area to fish out the kidnappers.

The federal lawmaker was reacting to the kidnap of two residents of Gumau community in Toro Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.

The victims are Alhaji Babangida (Dan Rimin Wunti) and Alhaji Saleh Jange.

Kidnapping had also occurred in Gumau, Bargan Fulani, Salarma and Fishere communities in the area.

He lamented that the high rate of kidnappings in his constituency has brought untold hardships.

Babangida and Jange’s abduction came few days after gunmen kidnapped and killed a woman at Bargan Fulani and a man killed at Fishere

He called for stakeholders’ and traditional rulers’ engagements with the security agencies to address the security challenge confronting Toro Federal constituency.

He promised to work collaborate with the security agencies to address the problem.
