SUBEB dismisses report on pupil -teacher ratio in Bauchi

The management of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has denied report (no Metoric Post) that the last annual School Census indicated a teacher to pupil ratio is teacher to 79 pupils
A statement signed by Mohammed Abdullahi, SUBEB Public Relations Officer explained that the attention of the management of was drawn on newspapers (Not Daily Sun) and online medium which says 79 schools in Misau Local Government had one teacher to 79 students
.“The information was not correct, it is a false and inaccurate data, and we don’t want to join issues with anybody,” Abdullahi said in a press release.“But to put the record straight, the pupil teacher ratio on the last annual School census was 1-79.
“This indicates number of pupils that a teacher meet in class per a lesson.
“We want the Public to disregard the false information earlier published and take the correct information released by the board
.“After the last Annual School Census, it was discovered that there are shortage of teachers across the state.
“Therefore, a memo was written to the Governor of the State, seeking for approval of recruitment of teachers to bridge the gap of which approval has already been granted to that respect”.
The statement commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the numerous support and attention given to the Basic Education sector, which led to the successes recorded in the provision of quality of education in the state”
