Bauchi Commissioner praises governor for timely provision of fertilizer to farmers

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Agriculture, Barrister Jidauna Tula Mbami has commended the timely provision of subsidized fertilizer  to farmers  by the state government.

Governor Bala Mohammed flagged off the 2023  farming season in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area some days ago, announcing fertilizer to farmers at subsidised rates.

Speaking on the development,  the Commissioner urged farmers to be prepared for a bumper hervest in this year farming, because they would access enough fertilizer.

Jidauna said that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Mohammed promised to sell fertilizer for the year 2023 at N15,000 pet 50kg bag in order for farmers to have easy access to the commodity.

He said the development is to ensure that food is sufficient in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.

According to the Commissioner, during the flagging off of the 2023 farming season, the state governor announced that farming inputs for this year 2023 would be sold directly to farmers to guard them against falling prey to shylock marketers.

He described Mohammed as the best governor in the history of Bauchi State in the  timely provision of farm inputs to the farmers.

Jidauna promised to work hand in hand with the farmers in order Bauchi State to come first in the country this year.

It wiill be recalled  that the governor disclosed that adequate fertilizer and farming inputs had been made available to meet the growing demands of farmers across the state to ensure food sufficiency.

The  Commisioner called on farmers to plant in line with the prediction of Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) of low rainfall in north Eastern part of the country this year.
