BY NAJIB SANI, GOMBE
The deputy national financial secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Honourable Dattuwa Ali Kumo has stated that the government of the incoming president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will comprise of technocrats and experts as cabinet members.
Kumo made the statement yesterday in an interview with journalists in his residence in Gombe on what Nigerians expect of the president-elect when he assumes office on May 29th.
He opined that when Tinubu was governor of Lagos, he had formidable team in his government who helped him to develop the state and boosted its economy adding that he was sure the president-elect will replicate same when he takes over power next month.
“Tinubu will bring positive changes in the country for the benefits of all citizens. I assure you from the combination of his ministers when unveiled, you will agree with me that he will hit the ground running.
“As a seasoned administrator with wealth of experience in governance and politics, he will definitely overhaul all the decaying sectors of Nigeria. A good example was seen in Lagos when he was a two terms governor in the state.
“Any person that knows Lagos before Tinubu’s administration in 1999 will bear me witness in that regard and one of his good legacies was that after leaving office, he made sure there is sustainability of development in the state. Up to now, the state is moving forward in a very right direction”. He asserted.
He hailed the majority of voters for choosing the APC at the presidential and governorship elections in Gombe state saying governor Inuwa Yahaya is doing well in infrastructural projects in the state.
“With this new combination of Tinubu as commander in chief of the federal republic of Nigeria and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as governor, I can say we have it all positive. We are now fully progressive”. He stated.
